HEADSTOCK REPAIRS
Almost everyone has had this unfortunate experience during theirs years owning a guitar. Sometimes it's a fall; sometimes it's a whack, but the end result is the same, a severed or cracked headstock. Restoring structural integrity can be accomplished two ways depending on the extent and vulnerability of the damage. Gluing the split sometimes is all that is needed, but when more severe damage is involved may recommend a spline be inlayed in the back of the neck to provide further stability and more surface area for gluing. Keep in mind, the only way to hide as best as possible is to strip, sand, and refinish the whole neck and headstock and neck of your instrument. If it necessary to install a spline, we highly encourage the full neck refinish.
