SET UPS
As general rule, most stringed instruments will need a thorough set up twice a year. Changes in temperature and humidity, even when eased by the owner, will have an effect on the action and playability of your instrument.
Typical signs are low action or buzzing in the winter and high action in the summer months. Just as the doors in your house stick in the summer and not in the winter, the wood of your instrument will expand in the summer and contract in the winter. Too much contraction will lead to soundboard and body cracks and create major problems and costly repairs. Remember to always humidify your instrument in the winter to lessen the effects of seasonal transition and to prevent those very costly repairs!
